Understanding standards
Standards may concern the tool, measurement, system capability or the complete assembly process. A list of standard numbers does not demonstrate suitability for an application.
Selection note
ISO 5393:2017 covers laboratory performance tests of continuous-drive powered screwdriving tools, including battery tools. Its standard range is 0.5–2,000 Nm. Changes outside that range must be documented in the report; blanket claims for larger tools would be misleading.
Application & selection
VDI/VDE 2645 Part 2 concerns machine capability studies. VDI/VDE 2647 covers torque and torque/angle type testing, typically up to 1 kNm. A statistical capability study is distinct from calibration.
Discuss your application
VDI/VDE 2862 Part 1 concerns vehicle-industry applications, while Part 2 addresses machinery, plant and certain pressure-bearing flange joints. Joint classification and monitoring requirements must fit the process. An announced angle feature alone proves no compliance.
